When is the Best Time to Visit Raja Ampat?

All year potentially , but typically the main season to visit Raja Ampat is between Nov - March, This period offers ideal conditions for freediving and snorkelling and is also a good opportunity to see Manta. 

April - June the Manta relocate , however, the trade off is often great visibility and less operators. July - early October is more of a gamble weather wise with strong winds often coming from the South but North facing sites are still protected so good planning can reward those that visit this time of year.

As Raja Ampat is equatorial , it can receive rainfall at any time year , often these localised showers are short lived, one can be experiencing brilliant sunshine whilst looking at a rainbow and shower over a nearby island. “Wet season’’ May - Oct” will often still follow this pattern with rains usually lasting hours rather than days.
